Description
Last year, upwards of 75 million automobiles were sold worldwide. How many of those buyers stopped and asked themselves how their sweet new ride came to be? For the few who did, even fewer probably considered that it all starts with building the factory. The automotive industry finds itself at the intersection between manufacturing and construction. We can say from experience, constructing buildings and manufacturing vehicle parts at the same time in the same place is no small feat. It's like trying to build a car while it's driving 75 mph down the highway. Sometimes we get the pleasure of breaking ground at a new site, but we're often expanding or renovating existing facilities, all while still having to get products out the door. This session is for owners, manufacturers, and car people alike—join us for a discussion about our experiences with our construction projects, the tools we use to manage them, and how to deal with the nuances we face manufacturing and building at the same time.
