New Autodesk certification exams may undergo a beta testing process before going live to track test performance and evaluate whether further development is needed.

Each beta exam is open to qualified candidates who are invited to test for its specific focus, based on their education and industry experience.

The beta exams are currently available only in English.

Beta exams are discounted from US$150 to $35 per participant, a savings of more than 75% off the cost of a published exam.

Participant screening may vary by exam, but will include:

  1. Follow the “Apply here” link above to apply to participate in the beta.
  2. If you are selected to take the beta exam you will receive an email notification. Note the beta testing period; you can only schedule and take the beta exam within this time.
  3. Schedule the beta exam by accessing your Autodesk certification dashboard within the specified beta testing period.
  4. Take the beta exam and share your feedback.
  5. Receive your results after the exam is published.

To prepare for an exam, carefully review the objective domains in the exam guide. Studying objective domains you are not familiar with will improve your chances of passing the exam.

Once the beta period is over, we evaluate the results from the beta exams delivered. Post-statistical analysis is used to evaluate the performance of each question as well as participant comments. A passing score is then determined to reflect the competencies of exam takers.

Participants who successfully take and pass the beta exam within the specified testing dates will be awarded the corresponding certification and digital badge to add to their résumé and share on social media. Participants who pass the beta exam will also receive a free voucher to take a future Autodesk certification exam of their choice.

Participants who do not pass the beta exam cannot retest, but they can pursue the exam once it is released several months later.

You will receive your exam score approximately two months after the beta period is completed (the timeframe is subject to change).

You will not have access to the software during the exam, as all questions are in a selected-response format and are designed to be answered without the software user interface.
