Certification policies

Introduction

Candidates may be eligible to receive certifications and related digital credentials representing certification achievements, which may include without limitation, a badge or certificate (“Credential”). To receive a certification, candidates are required to meet program requirements for that certification, including without limitation, completion of a candidate application form, agreeing to the terms of this agreement, and passing an exam.

Policies

Candidates agree that they will comply with all program policies on this page and in the candidate agreement made available by Autodesk in connection with the program. Program policies may be updated from time to time and may include policies from Autodesk’s third-party service providers related to rules and requirements for taking certification exams.

Exam retake policy

If candidates do not achieve a passing score on any exam after the first attempt, they may immediately reschedule to take the exam again, based on appointment availability from the exam service provider.

If candidates do not achieve a passing score on any exam after the second attempt, they must wait three days (72 hours) before retaking the exam. A three-day waiting period will be imposed for each subsequent exam retake.

Recertification policy

Certifications are valid for either two or three years; details are listed on each certification page. To recertify for an Autodesk certification, candidates must:

  • Submit a new certification application within the period that is six months prior to the certification expiration date.
  • Schedule, purchase, and take the certification exam before the expiration date.
  • Achieve a passing score.

Once candidates have passed the exam, the expiration date on the certification will be updated and extended through a new expiration term.

There is no grace period for expired certification credentials. To pursue certification after their existing certification has expired, candidates must submit a new application, purchase and take the related certification exam, and achieve a passing result. The issuance date on the new certification will be effective the date of the passed exam.

Candidate code of conduct

By pursuing and achieving an Autodesk certification and receiving credentials, candidates are joining an elite professional tier, which is recognized by Autodesk. By following the Candidate Code of Conduct, candidates help ensure the integrity of certifications and credentials.

In signing up to take an Autodesk certification, candidates agree to:

Candidates agree they will not:

Candidate personal information and privacy

Autodesk is committed to protecting candidates' privacy and communicating what Autodesk will do with candidates' personal information. Autodesk’s Privacy Statement sets forth how Autodesk may collect, use, store, and process personal information of or relating to candidates, and how candidates may request deletion of personal information.

If candidates take an exam at a third-party service provider and engage such third-party for additional services (e.g., training) other than the exam, candidates may be subject to such third-party’s privacy and other policies with respect to such additional services.
